We are proud of our Partners Scott FitzGerald and Michael Turansick for providing funds to support the work of Fordham Law’s Feerick Center for Social Justice and the student-run Immigration Advocacy Project that helps asylum-seeking women.
The members of both groups travel regularly to South Texas Family Residential Center in Dilley to help prepare the detained immigrant women, who are often fleeing from violence or humanitarian crisis in their home countries, for their credible or reasonable fear interviews—the first hurdle in the asylum-seeking process.
These funds will help in funding transportation, lodging, and food for future trips to Dilley for Fordham Law students, faculty, alumni, translators, and other key volunteers. Read more.
