Careen Shannon and Danny Alicea recently presented a seminar for Lawline.com where they provided a basic overview of the exercise of prosecutorial discretion in the immigration context known as Deferred Action.
All of the presenters explored the two most recent forms of the Deferred Action programs: Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (“DACA”) and Deferred Action for Parents of American citizens and lawful permanent residents (“DAPA”).
Additionally, the presenters described ways major law firms have assisted Deferred Action applicants in partnership with community-based organizations and shared advice about helping community members prepare for the impending DAPA program.
