Fragomen Toronto Helps Bring Families Together During Children's Medical Surgeries
October 19, 2015

As part of the office's effort to give back to the Toronto community at large, the team at Fragomen in Toronto have been working closely with the Herbie Fund.
The Herbie Fund’s mission is to bring children from around the world to The Hospital for Sick Children (aka Sick Kids Hospital), a world-renowned facility, for life-saving or life-altering surgeries –surgeries that are not available to them in their home countries because of high costs and lack of medical expertise. To date, more than 700 children from approximately 100 countries have received specialized medical and surgical assistance through the fund. Unfortunately there are always more applications than the fund can support.
All of the physicians donate their time and expertise and thus waive their surgical fees. The Fragomen in Toronto team is doing their part by providing our services free of cost, assisting Sick Kids Hospital and the patients and their accompanying parent(s) with obtaining the necessary Visas and Visitor Records to come to Canada for the medical procedures. This year alone they have assisted with the applications of four patients, and estimate that they will be assisting at least ten per year.
