With less than two weeks days until the first match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, travelers planning to attend matches in the US, Canada and Mexico should review entry requirements and begin preparing travel documentation as early as possible.
In this video, Senior Associate Jake Paul Minster discusses visa processing considerations across the three host countries and highlights why early planning remains critical for international travelers.
Jake explains that individuals traveling to the US who require a visitor visa may continue to face appointment wait times at certain consular posts and notes that FIFA credentials, match tickets and supporter passes do not replace visa requirements.
He also reviews entry requirements for Canada, including considerations related to temporary resident visas and Electronic Travel Authorizations (eTAs), and discusses visa appointment availability for travelers who require visas to enter Mexico.
As the tournament approaches, travelers are encouraged to confirm entry requirements as early as possible and allow sufficient time for visa appointments, biometrics collection and application processing.
