About Australia
Whether you’re looking to visit, live or work in Australia—we can support your immigration needs at every stage of your journey.
If you’re a foreign national looking to visit, live, and/or work in Australia, you have many options.
- Short-term visit or work: The Visitor Visa (Subclass 600) is the standard business visitor visa that allows you to perform certain defined business activities in Australia. The Temporary Work (Short Stay Specialist) Visa (Subclass 400) Visa is suitable for short-term, highly specialized work for up to three months (or up to six months with a strong business case).
- Long-term work: If an Australian company is sponsoring you, the Skills in Demand (Subclass 482) Visa (“SID Visa”) allows you to work in Australia for up to two or four years. If you need to work for a longer period, you can apply for a subsequent SID Visa in some circumstances.
- Internships/Traineeships: The Training visa (Subclass 407) allows you to undertake an internship sponsored by an Australian entity. It can be issued for up to 2 years with no renewals available and may not be renewed. This visa is suitable for workplace-based training, to improve skills in your current occupation, area of tertiary study, or field of expertise, or as part of a professional development training program. Recent graduates may be eligible for the Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485), which allows you to live and work in Australia for a period between 18 months and three years. Hong Kong passport holders may be eligible for a 5-year visa.
- Self-employment: If you are a high-performing entrepreneur or innovative investor looking to make a significant contribution to Australia’s economic growth, you may qualify for the National Innovation Visa (Subclass 858). This is an invitation-only program, and you must first submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) outlining your achievements and potential contributions. If your EOI is approved, you will receive an invitation to apply for the visa.
In addition to the invitation, you must be nominated by an Australian citizen, permanent resident, eligible New Zealand citizen, or a nationally recognized Australian organization in your field. While there are no mandatory financial thresholds for assets, income, or other related requirements, you must demonstrate exceptional, internationally recognized achievements in your field backed by evidence of a proven track record of excellence.
