Expedited Work Permit Processing Available for Workers with In-Demand Skills

Third-country nationals who are considered to have in-demand skills are now eligible for a new expedited two-to-three week Single Permit processing time, instead of the normal processing time of up to 14 weeks. Currently, expedited processing is only available to nationals of a neighboring country of Hungary, however the list of eligible nationals may be expanded to all third-country nationals.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the expedited process, the application must include a declaration from the Hungarian sponsoring entity stating the following:
The applicant is a national of Serbia or Ukraine; and
The applicant’s occupation is one that qualifies under the current national occupational codes as published by the Minister of National Economy (FEOR codes). This list is updated frequently and currently includes mostly engineering and information technology job titles.
