Australia: New South Wales and South Australia Announce New Innovation Visa Pathways

New South Wales and South Australia have each released their nomination criteria for the National Innovation Visa, which is an invitation-only program designed for exceptionally talented individuals with world-leading skills.
New South Wales’ nomination pathways include: (1) Academic and Researcher, for those conducting high-impact research relevant to the state's needs; (2) Entrepreneur, for individuals with a history of leading innovation-driven ventures; (3) Innovative Investor, for those who have made significant capital contributions and supported business growth; (4) Sports Professional, for elite athletes, coaches, and specialists with top-level achievements; and (5) Creative, for artists recognized nationally or internationally across creative disciplines.
South Australia’s nomination pathways include: (1) Global Researchers and Thought Leaders, for academics with a strong record of publications, patents, or keynote contributions; (2) Entrepreneurs, for those capable of commercializing products or building impactful businesses; (3) Innovative Investors, for candidates who have successfully supported or scaled ventures; (4) Creative Talent, for individuals with international recognition in creative industries; and (5) Other Globally Talented Individuals, for exceptional candidates whose achievements fall outside the standard categories but warrant nomination based on merit.
