In this article published by Capital, Fragomen's Axel Boysen and Katharina Vorländer discuss current staff shortages in the aviation industry and the resulting airport chaos, as well as the effects of work visa processing times when recruiting workers from abroad.
Regarding the outsourcing of foreign talent, Axel and Katharina explained to Capital that it could take between six and 12 weeks for all steps of the process to be finalized, from collecting all the necessary documents to issuing a visa to approving the residence permit. They noted that experience has shown that if suitable employees first have to be found and selected, the process takes at least six months.
