Bangladesh: Non-Business or Employment Visa Issuance for Indian Nationals Suspended

Bangladesh has suspended the acceptance of all categories of visa applications from Indian nationals, except for business and employment visas, citing security considerations. This measure follows earlier steps to suspend consular services at the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi on December 22, 2025. Currently, the Bangladesh Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the restrictions have been expanded to include Deputy High Commissions in Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai, where consular and visa services for Indian nationals (including tourist and most other visa categories) have been halted. Only business and employment visas are currently being issued and the suspension remains in effect until further notice with no timeline announced for the resumption of full visa services.
