Employers who have not completed a mandatory 2015 projection request on the online portal cannot submit any new applications and can expect at least month-long delays for the processing of new and renewal Employment Passes.
Following the mandatory E-Filing system implemented in March 2014, the Malaysian Immigration Department requires all companies that have completed the registration process in 2014 submit a projection of the number of employment passes the employer will sponsor in 2015, which could take two to three weeks.
What This Means for Employers and Foreign Nationals
Employers that have not already submitted a 2015 projection request should take immediate steps to do so. Start dates may have to be postponed for upcoming assignments due to this new requirement.
