On June 27, Sean Fraser, the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship in Canada, announced a host of new work permit categories and initiatives that are designed to, “ensure Canada is not only filling in-demand jobs today, but also attracting the skills and business talent to create the jobs of tomorrow.” The Canadian government plans to re-tool existing programs and create new ones such as a “North American” labour mobility solution that targets existing H-1B visa holders in the United States specifically.
