Fragomen in Phoenix Continues to Take on Additional Unaccompanied Minor Cases from FIRRP

The Phoenix office's commitment to abandoned, abused and neglected minors dates to 2009, when Partner Sandra Sheridan Reguerin participated in a free CLE program on SIJS sponsored by the Florence Immigrant and Refugee Rights Project (FIRRP).  As a condition of participation, FIRRP asked the office to commit to at least one pro bono matter. The Phoenix office's first case was a non-detained youth from Mexico who was a victim of physical and sexual abuse and under Child Protective Services (CPS) care.  After receiving his green card, his CPS case worker sought the firm's legal assistance on behalf of additional minors, and more attorneys and paralegals became involved with this worthy cause.  In January 2013, Fragomen forged a partnership with FIRRP to prepare immigration filings for their SIJS matters, and the office will continue to take on additional unaccompanied minor cases from FIRRP.
