The German parliament passed the Act on the Further Development of Skilled Immigration on 23 June 2023, followed by an initial piece coming into effect on 18 November. On 1 March even more significant updates came into force, and Partner Marius Tollenaere, Manager Dr. Adela Schmidt and Associate Uwe Humbs explore these changes in our latest strategy paper.
They summarise the main legislative changes since November and compare them to the newer developments related to student permits, additional options for specialists in various fields, reunification with family members and permanent residence permits.
