Fragomen Sydney is hosting an Aged Care sector roundtable on Wednesday, 11 November 'Navigating Australia's Evolving Aged Care Landscape - What Comes Next?'

The workforce challenges facing the aged care sector are rapidly changing – recent student visa reforms, higher wages and continued competition for talent are changing some of the workforce assumptions providers have traditionally relied upon.

This roundtable will bring together senior HR, Talent Acquisition and Workforce leaders to discuss topics such as:

  • Impact of student visa changes and increased sponsorship demand? With affected workers increasingly looking to employers for sponsorship, how do providers decide who to sponsor when places and budgets are finite?
  • Have wage increases moved the dial? Are higher wages materially improving attraction and retention, or exposing deeper workforce challenges?
  • One care workforce, or competing sectors? Will greater worker mobility across aged care, disability and community care increase access to talent or intensify competition for it?
  • What needs to change next? Where are the remaining gaps in ACILA, OSCA and Australia's broader migration framework, including the new DAMAs, and what would make the greatest difference to providers' workforce strategies?

The session will provide an opportunity for candid discussion with peers about the workforce decisions providers are making now, the approaches that are working and the challenges emerging next.

Networking and afternoon tea will follow the roundtable discussion.
