Ireland: Visa Requirement for Certain Non-Ukrainian Refugees Extended Another 12 Months

The Irish government has extended its policy that requires refugees with travel documents issued by 20 ‘safe’ European countries to have a visa to enter Ireland (as opposed to travelling visa-free) for another 12 months. This policy was first after the country suspended the Council of Europe Agreement on the Abolition of Visas for Refugees. The 20 ‘safe’ European countries are Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovak Republic, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland. Visa-free travel is still available for Ukrainian nationals. The policy will be reviewed again in 12 months.
