Congratulations to Fragomen New York Partner Lisa Koenig, who was named a winner of the seventh annual Jeremy G. Epstein Awards for Outstanding Pro Bono Service by the City Bar Justice Center - the pro bono affiliate of the New York City Bar Association.
Honoring the most outstanding volunteer attorney in each of the Justice Center projects, the awards were presented at a Celebration of Service reception on October 26th as part of National Pro Bono Week.
Lisa was nominated for her work for the Immigrant Outreach Program, and selected as the most outstanding project volunteer based on quality and volume of legal work, leadership in pro bono, and commitment to the project.
The Immigrant Outreach Project began in 2007 when the City Bar Justice Center and Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen and Loewy, LLP created the Fragomen Fellowship to head the project in an effort to increase outreach to immigrants in dire need of pro bono legal services. Since its inception, the Immigrant Outreach Project has assisted over 2,600 immigrants in New York City.
