Lisa is a connector of both people and ideas—a quality that serves her well in her current role of Partner, Global Responsible Business Practices, to which she was appointed in 2022. In this position, Lisa leads Fragomen’s Global Responsible Business Practices, a global department centered on key areas of focus for the firm, including Diversity, Equity & Inclusion; Pro Bono; Corporate Social Responsibility; Sustainability and WellBeing.

Lisa’s decades-long dedication to Fragomen allows her to infuse the role with in-depth knowledge of the firm, its global business and most importantly, how these values align with the needs of the firm’s clients. Her long-term, active involvement across a variety of firm initiatives—coupled with her deep commitment to social justice—gives her the understanding necessary to perform at the highest level of professional responsibility. Constantly energized by connecting with others who are also passionate about the areas on which her role focuses, Lisa knows that her own personal experiences allow her to effectively engage with her colleagues both across the firm and in the legal profession.

After more than 30 years of experience as a practicing immigration lawyer, Lisa recognized the importance of providing counsel responsibly. She then began to develop and nurture her passion for areas that influence the way business is conducted, such as diversity, equity and inclusion, pro bono and corporate social responsibility.

In addition to her involvement in the firm’s pro bono efforts for more than 20 years, Lisa has supervised the Fragomen Fellow Program, an initiative that fosters the communities in which Fragomen operates through pro bono service, since its inception more than 15 years ago. She currently oversees the Responsible Business Practices Committee, serves on the People Committee and previously served on the IT Committee.

Lisa strongly believes that mentoring is crucial to the development of future lawyers. She mentors associates through Fragomen’s formal program and serves as a Board Member and Mentor in NYU’s Lawyer Alumni Mentoring Program focused on law-school-bound undergraduates. Additionally, she is engaged in Fragomen’s recruitment efforts and regularly participates in the on-campus interview process.

Lisa is a strong believer in the power of effective pipelines and is a key contributor to the New York City Bar’s Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging. In particular, she has facilitated Fragomen’s participation in the City Bar’s Thurgood Marshall Professional Development Program, a program designed to provide exposure to diverse New York City high school students who are considering a career in law, as well as the Associate Professional Development Institute, an ABA award-winning series of high-level development trainings for mid-level and senior associates. She also currently serves on the City Bar Fund’s Diversity Pipeline Committee. She was a former Board of Trustees member of the American Immigration Council and former City Bard Fund Board Member.

Lisa speaks English, French and Hebrew.
