Long Waits Managed with New Registration Schedule at Burgh Quay Immigration Office

The Garda National Immigration Bureau (GNIB)/ Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service (INIS) have introduced new measures to address the long waits at the Immigration Public Office in Burgh Quay. Initial residence registrations will now take place on Mondays and Tuesdays and registration renewals will take place on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Student residence registrations have also been deferred.
Students from the following colleges who seek to register or renew their residence will now only be able to register later this fall:
· Dublin City University (DCU);
· Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) and constituent colleges;
· Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI);
· Trinity College Dublin (TCD); and
· University College Dublin (UCD).
The new assigned days and removal of students from the registration system is meant to alleviate long wait times. Foreign nationals should still arrive at the immigration office in the morning to ensure they obtain their requested services.
