The Chinese and Singaporean governments have signed a mutual visa waiver agreement which will enter into effect on February 9, 2024. At that time, nationals of Singapore and Mainland China will be visa exempt to each other’s countries when traveling for business or tourism for a single stay of up to 30 days. However, if nationals of Mainland China seek to stay beyond the 30 days in Singapore, they can apply for a visa extension online with Immigration and Checkpoints Authority for up to an additional 30 days (or up to 89 cumulative days if they have immediate family members who are Singapore citizens or permanent residents); nationals of Singapore cannot extend their stay in Mainland China. Both nationals of Singapore and Mainland China entering the reciprocal country to perform activities that require approval, such as work or news reporting, will still need to obtain the relevant visa prior to entry.
