Malaysia: 2025 Projection Applications for Employers Registered with Expatriate Service Division Open December 1, 2024

The Expatriate Services Division (ESD) will begin accepting projection applications on December 1, 2024, from companies in Malaysia registered on the ESD online portal who plan to submit Employment Pass (EP) and Professional Visit Pass (PVP) applications in 2025. As a reminder, companies must have the latest e-SSM before submitting the projection request. When applying, they must provide the total number of local staff, foreign staff, position group (e.g., Top Management, Middle Management, Technical Expert, Entry Level, etc.), and the justification of the projection applied. The ESD will approve the projection application instantly upon submission of the application. The projection application is applicable for use in its respective year only, which means any projection balance for 2024 cannot be carried forward to 2025. Although there is no deadline for submission of the projections, companies that do not have approved projections for 2025 will not be able to submit initial and renewal EP and PVP applications until they obtain the required projection approval.
