As a follow up to the electronic Multiple Immigration Form (FMM) pilot program, the National Immigration Institute (INM) is now requiring most travelers entering Mexico with a Temporary Residence Visa for the first time and who must complete an application/registration process with the INM after arrival to complete an electronic FMM when entering Mexico, instead of a paper FMM. To complete the electronic FMM, travelers will need to create a username, upload a copy of their passport, and provide their flight information, among other details. The information on the form should match the foreign national’s passport to avoid issues at the registration stage. It is important to note that the electronic FMM must be completed and downloaded on the same day as arrival and not later (the username can be created in advance of arrival). Foreign nationals who are unable to complete the FMM online should follow immigration officials’ instructions.
