Namibia: Expansion of Border Posts for Foreign Nationals Entering Using Visas-on-Arrival
April 8, 2024

The Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety, and Security has once again increased the border posts where individuals can obtain visas-on-arrival for business and tourism to four additional ports: Oshikango, Mohembo, Ariamsvlei, Noordoewer, and Oranjemund. This follows a previous expansion of this service in December 2022. The documentary requirements to be submitted and processed on arrival in Namibia remain unchanged. However, processing fees have increased since 2022--a payment of NAD 1,100 is required for a stay of up to 90 days, while a payment of NAD 2,200 is required for a stay of up to 180 days. The expansion of the visa-on-arrival initiative complements existing programs at the Hosea Kutako International Airport, Katima Mulilo, Trans Kalahari and Walvis Bay border posts and promotes the Africa Union’s integration agenda.
