Nationals of Colombia, Nicaragua and Venezuela Limited to 90 Days in Business or Tourist Visitor Status

In an effort to control irregular immigration into Panama, the Ministry of Public Safety and the immigration authority Servicio Nacional de Migración have reduced the maximum stay under the business or tourist visitor status for nationals of Colombia, Nicaragua and Venezuela from 180 days to 90 days.
The Panamanian government has stated that it has analyzed and found a common practice for nationals of these three countries to enter Panama as business or tourist visitors and perform activities not authorized under the business or tourist visitor status.
Nationals of Colombia, Nicaragua and Venezuela who entered Panama prior to the issuance of this decree will be allowed to stay for 180 days as previously permitted.

Employers and foreign nationals should verify the appropriate type of visa required based on the activities to be performed during the stay in Panama to ensure compliance.
