Update September 6, 2023: Commercial air traffic has been resumed to and from Niger, and land borders with Algeria, Burkina Faso, Libya, Mali, and Chad are open. Air and land borders with Benin and Nigeria remain closed.
Military authorities have announced the suspension of incoming and outgoing air and land traffic in the country. Additionally, government offices are closed, meaning immigration applications will not be accepted or processed, and delays following reopening should be expected. Employers should ensure the safety of their employees and should account for expected immigration and travel delays. Foreign nationals in Niger should contact their home country consular post to declare their safety and seek travel advice. At this time, information is fragmented. We are closely monitoring the situation and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
