The process is simple, requiring employees to create a UKVI account and verify their identity, but it is crucial for businesses to inform employees and ensure their digital status is updated.
He shares that employers may also need to conduct follow-up right to work checks for employees whose original checks were based on a physical BRP and lacked an expiry date. This digital transition is part of broader UK government efforts to modernise the immigration system, including the upcoming rollout of an electronic travel authorisation scheme and improvements to the sponsor management system.
