Peru: Visa-Free Business Travel for Japanese Nationals Forthcoming
June 25, 2025
Effective July 1, 2025, holders of Japanese ordinary passports will be allowed to enter Peru without a visa for business purposes for up to 183 consecutive or cumulative days within a one-year period from their first date of entry. Currently, Japanese nationals are visa-exempt for tourism in Peru for up to 183 days per year, with stays typically limited to 90 days per visit unless a valid reason for the extended stay is authorized. However, a visa is still required for business travel — a requirement that will be eliminated under the new policy. This change follows the recent announcement of a visa waiver policy for Peruvian nationals traveling to Japan, reflecting reciprocal travel facilitation measures between the two countries.
