The Registered Traveller Scheme, designed for business travelers and frequent visitors, has been expanded to cover nationals from the following countries:
- Andorra;
- Bahamas;
- Botswana;
- Holy See (Vatican City);
- Macao;
- Maldives;
- Monaco;
- Namibia;
- Nauru;
- Papua New Guinea;
- Samoa;
- Seychelles;
- St. Vincent and the Grenadines;
- Tonga; and
- Trinidad and Tobago.
Travelers from 40 countries can now benefit from faster entry to the United Kingdom.
Background and benefits
The expansion follows a recent change that opened the Scheme to applicants aged 0 to 17, enabling families to travel together more easily.
The scheme allows approved members who have undergone advanced security checks faster entry at the UK border through access to the ePassport gates (if they hold an ePassport) or the UK/EU passport lane.
To be eligible to apply, passengers must hold an eligible passport and have a visa from or have visited the United Kingdom at least four times in the past two years.
