Saudi Arabia: Pre-Travel Registration Now Possible for Land Border Arrivals, with Process to Become Mandatory in 2027
November 6, 2026
As of October 26, 2026, travelers entering Saudi Arabia via a land border can register their personal and travel information electronically prior to arrival. This includes registering nationality, travel document type, phone number, intended land border crossing point, expected travel dates and vehicle information. Previously, travelers could only provide such information on arrival at a Saudi land border. This new process will become mandatory from around April 2027. The exact date remains to be confirmed.
Individuals planning to enter Saudi Arabia by land should familiarize themselves with the new service and be prepared to complete the required information electronically before travel once the requirement becomes mandatory.
