The delay is caused by the implementation of new immigration legislation on June 1, 2022, requiring government officials to transpose the new rules into practice, which typically causes delays during the transition period. Since processing in Sweden typically slows down from June-August annually, Fragomen does not expect the current processing delays to be resolved in 2022.
