The PIE: More Declines Loom in “Seriously Concerning” US Visa Trends

International students hoping to secure a visa to study in the US are facing ongoing delays, compounded by heightened screening protocols. In an article published in The PIE, Partner Aaron Blumberg explained that new social media vetting requirements have led to more student visa applications being sent for administrative processing.  Aaron notes that while he has not observed cases where visas were denied solely due to social media content, he emphasized that consular officers rarely provide detailed reasons for refusals, making it difficult to determine the influence of any one factor.
