Aaron credits a diverse and demanding clientele for shaping his wide-ranging capabilities. It is a mix of proficiencies that allows him to design immigration policies, programs and strategies that are well-matched to any client’s needs.

The diversity of his practice is measured by the industries and sectors with which he is deeply familiar—a list that includes biotech, finance, healthcare, technology, higher education, logistics and more.

It is also defined by companies in many stages of the corporate lifecycle, from fledgling entrepreneurs to small- and mid-sized enterprises to giant multinationals. He has managed programs for clients of every orientation and ambition—clients dedicated to managing costs, for instance, or companies particularly focused on pristine compliance. He has designed solutions for enterprises that deeply monitor every layer of a large, tech-driven immigration process—and clients that prefer a turnkey, self-managing program.

Academic immigration law is one of Aaron’s primary areas of focus. As a former Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO), Aaron possesses particular insight into issues faced by students on F-1 Student Visas, as well as scholars on Exchange Visitor J Visas. He advises DSOs and AROs on Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) compliance and best practices. He counts colleges, universities and research institutions, as well as students, researchers and academics, among his clientele.

Aaron is also a well-regarded healthcare immigration lawyer—helping organizations and individual professionals navigate one of the most technically-specialized practices in the field. He manages difficult, multi-tiered, highly personalized immigration processes for countless physicians and medical specialists and is sought after for his extensive J-1 waiver knowledge, including clinical waivers, research waivers, hardship and persecution waivers. He has designed large-scale programs for nurses, and individual cases for allied health professionals and healthcare executives.

Aaron is also a leader of Fragomen’s Humanitarian and Evolving Legal Pathways (HELP) practice, through which he serves clients dealing with emergent humanitarian crises that impact vulnerable workforces. Aaron also plays a pivotal role in Fragomen’s partnership with Talent Beyond Boundaries, a nonprofit organization that helps displaced people around the globe immigrate for work based on their skills, education and experience. He helps promote TBB’s vision and has connected them with cap-exempt H-1B employers interested in hiring and sponsoring refugees for work visas.

Aaron’s love of immigration law is rooted in his fascination with American history and the role immigration has played in shaping it—alongside the history of his own family and its journey to and within the United States. He is grateful that his chosen discipline can help create a positive future for immigrants of every background, profession and need.

Aaron is actively engaged in pro bono work and focuses much of his effort on representing individuals from Nepal, Haiti, Venezuela, Ukraine, Afghanistan and other countries filing for Temporary Protected Status, and conducts webinars on TPS and its impact on F and J visa holders. He also advocates for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) individuals, helping dreamers transition to H-1B Visas.

Experience

Helped numerous clients on Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) successfully transition to H-1B status, opening doors to long-term career opportunities in the U.S. Through careful planning and strategic advocacy, Aaron guided these individuals through the complex H-1B filing and visa stamping process, ensuring they can continue contributing to their employers and communities. Many of these clients are now taking the next step toward permanent residence sponsorship, working closely with their employers to secure their future in the U.S.

Assisted a Venezuelan physician in securing a J-1 persecution waiver, allowing him to continue his groundbreaking medical research and clinical work in the U.S. Facing significant challenges due to J-1 two-year home residence requirement, this highly skilled physician was at risk of having to leave the country, disrupting critical advancements in his field. Through a deep understanding of the waiver process, Aaron successfully helped him secure a waiver and transition to H-1B status, ensuring he could continue his vital contributions to both research and patient care. Now, Aaron is working closely with the physician and his employer to secure permanent residence, solidifying his ability to make a lasting impact in the medical community.

Assisted a physician in overcoming a wrongful J-1 waiver denial that left her in limbo for nearly four years. Despite a strong case, her initial application was rejected without clear explanation. Aaron took swift action, challenging the denial while re-filing a new application and securing an approval. Now, the physician can move forward with her green card application and continue her vital work in the U.S.
