Tier 1 Investor Visa Category Remains Open Despite Recent Suspension Announcement
December 11, 2018

The situation
Following an announcement last week by the Immigration Minister that the Tier 1 (Investor) Visa category would be temporarily suspended as of midnight December 6, 2018, the Home Office has confirmed that the category remains open.
The Home Office cannot confirm if or when the category will be suspended, or how much notice interested applicants will be given in case of a suspension.
Impact
Interested applicants are advised to file applications and/or consult their immigration provider urgently, as new applications under this category are currently still open.
Looking ahead
Fragomen expects the Tier 1 (Investor) category to remain open until the necessary measures are implemented to give effect to a possible suspension.
The UK Immigration Minister is expected to submit draft legislation to the UK Parliament (a Statement of Changes) shortly to amend several immigration policies, including the Tier 1 (Investor) Visa category. Fragomen will report on relevant developments when they occur.
