Times of India: US to Scan Social Media of All H-1B, H-4 Visa Applicants from December 15

The US State Department is expanding its visa screening to include social-media checks for H-1B workers and their H-4 dependents. In an article published in Times of India, Senior Counsel Mitch Wexler notes this expands a policy previously applied to student and exchange visas and says applicants can expect a more detailed review of their online activity. He adds that the new vetting standards may cause longer background checks and delays for some applicants.
