U.S. Consulate in Chennai Cancels Nonimmigrant Visa Appointments Through December 7

The U.S. Consulate in Chennai has cancelled nonimmigrant visa appointments scheduled for December 5-7, 2016. Nonimmigrant visa applicants affected by the cancellations are being contacted by email and asked to reschedule their appointments through the Consulate’s online appointment system.
The Consulate will be operating with reduced staff through December 7, but expects to resume full operations on December 8.
Consular operations were suspended due to the death of the Chief Minister of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
