United Kingdom: Automated Settled Status Granted Under EU Settlement Scheme

The Home Office has started automatically granting settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS) for eligible pre-settled status holders in order to streamline the settled status process. As a result, pre-settled status holders no longer need to apply for settled status after they continuously reside in the United Kingdom for five years and meet other eligibility requirements. This process will continue in phased stages until all eligible foreign nationals are granted their settled status. Those who are granted settled status will have their digital status automatically updated and will receive an email from the Home Office. The Home Office will email those who do not meet the eligibility requirements with information about next steps.
