Visa on Arrival Program to be Indefinitely Suspended
March 31, 2015
Starting May 15, foreign nationals previously eligible for a visa on arrival must obtain a visa for business or tourism prior to entry due to the upcoming indefinite suspension of the visa on arrival program. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this policy change is intended to improve the monitoring of foreign nationals.
In practice, visas on arrival allow foreign nationals to engage in business activities such as attending meetings, conducting research and negotiating contracts.
What This Means for Foreign Nationals
Foreign nationals intending to visit Egypt should plan in advance to obtain a consular visa prior to entering for business.
