Blake’s practice is built around understanding and serving the individual—whether they are an employee of a major technology company client, the leader of a hypergrowth startup, or an entertainer, athlete, or other high-profile public figure.

Communication is a key component of his practice. For his corporate clientele, which includes high-technology, financial services, engineering, manufacturing and real estate enterprises, Blake encourages direct contact with employees to ensure a trustworthy and enjoyable employee experience. In particular, he has helped these clients attract and retain software, social media, cybersecurity and other high-tech workers in response to the unrelenting increase in demand for skilled workers. His hands-on approach has become invaluable for clients facing the pressures of technological and economic change, in addition to the multiple crises that continue to transform immigration processes and procedures at a rapid pace.

Throughout his career, Blake has represented smaller, more nimble companies that are experiencing their first burst of unexpected growth and can’t attract talent quickly enough. He has designed immigration policies and programs for several startups and early-stage companies, helping them make the transition from up-and-comers to industry-leading players. He counsels hypergrowth clients on transitioning their immigration programs from limited, ad hoc efforts to sophisticated, streamlined programs, and continues managing their programs as they grow and succeed.

Prior to joining Fragomen, Blake earned his stripes at a boutique Los Angeles business and entertainment firm, where he represented entertainers, athletes, entrepreneurs and other high-net-worth individuals and their families. He continues to represent this demanding clientele today, combining his hard-won experience with the reach and resources of the world’s largest immigration firm. Blake derives particular satisfaction from learning about his clients’ plans and ambitions, and matching those objectives with creative immigration strategies—including the use of E-2, L-1, EB-5, extraordinary ability and national interest waivers, and other novel approaches.

Blake’s client focus extends to his pro bono practice, through which he supports asylum seekers and institutions offering asylum clinics.
