Janis works with clients to build and enhance centralized immigration programs, helping them navigate the complexities of managing immigration nuances across multiple countries. She supports organizations in creating global programs from scratch and provides strategic guidance for optimizing existing programs, identifying process improvements and expanding their global reach.

As the leader of Fragomen’s EMEA immigration program management team, Janis oversees a group of around 35 professionals, helping them develop a deep understanding of global immigration processes. Her leadership ensures that the team delivers exceptional service and strategic solutions to clients worldwide.

With experience in sectors such as tech, manufacturing, energy and media, Janis understands the distinct challenges faced by each industry. Her broad background allows her to apply valuable insights across different fields. For instance, the lessons learned from managing rotational programs in the energy industry can be adapted to similar structures in the tech sector, making her approach versatile and effective across various arenas.

Janis is a strong advocate for the benefits of centralized global immigration programs over decentralized models, understanding that a unified approach allows for better management of costs, streamlined reporting and greater efficiency. It also enables a more coordinated response in times of crisis, ensuring that the organization is prepared to assist its global workforce. By understanding the full scope of an organization’s talent pool, Janis helps clients identify and mobilize talent across borders. She works closely with internal global mobility teams and local HR departments to onboard each country, ensuring a smooth integration into the centralized program.

Her client service philosophy is built on forming strong partnerships and maintaining open lines of communication. Janis values working collaboratively with clients to understand their goals and challenges, which allows her to offer tailored solutions that drive continuous improvement. She believes that the best partnerships involve addressing the root causes of challenges and working together to find lasting solutions that improve the experience for all parties involved.

Beyond her client work, Janis serves as the partner sponsor for the firm’s UK Corporate Social Responsibility pillar, part of Fragomen’s Responsible Business Practices. In this role, she leads volunteer efforts, from food bank initiatives to the London Legal Walk, charity fundraising and gardening projects, contributing to her local community in meaningful ways.
