Khiara is an Associate at Fragomen’s New York office, where she represents multinational and domestic corporations on a broad spectrum of employment-based and general business immigration law matters, including nonimmigrant visas (e.g., B, L, H-1B1, O, TN, E-3 and J), consular processing and permanent residence (e.g., PERM, multi-national managers and Extraordinary Ability/Outstanding Researchers). Her clients include global Fortune 500 companies in a range of industries, including fashion, cosmetics/fragrances, financial services and commercial insurance.
Khiara has experience in advising employers and human resources departments on a wide range of compliance issues concerning work authorization, portability of immigration benefits and maintenance of status. She is also experienced with strategizing and drafting complex responses to Requests for Evidence for the H-1B, L-1 and I-140 categories.
While in law school, Khiara was a member of the St. John’s University Child Advocacy Clinic, where she assisted unaccompanied minors with juvenile dockets at Immigration Court. She also studied abroad in London and served as an International Legal Extern for a boutique firm specializing in immigration, tax and corporate/commercial law. As an International Legal Extern, she helped to secure work authorization for American artists and entertainers performing temporary work in the United Kingdom.
