Laxmi is a Director and Solicitor based in our Sheffield office, with more than 19 years of UK immigration experience. In her role, she leads a team of lawyers and immigration professionals and assists corporate clients across a range of industries including space, technology, engineering and manufacturing. Laxmi co-leads the firm’s UK Space Industry Group, as well as the Northern Tech Industry Group, with her experience and interest in these sectors. Laxmi is adept at providing strategic legal guidance on global mobility, UK immigration law, relocation to the UK and complex cross border and multi-jurisdictional matters.

Laxmi also supports private clients with all aspects of family migration, investment, settlement and British nationality applications and options available outside of the Immigration Rules. She has extensive experience with discretionary applications, government concessions and applications under the Ukraine Scheme.

Laxmi is a recognized thought leader in immigration law, contributing to key industry discussions and reports and frequently shares her extensive knowledge on immigration issues impacting businesses and individuals. She was featured in techUK’s Emerging Space Technology Industry Perspective report, providing insights on visa options in the UK space sector. She also wrote for Law360, offering an in-depth analysis on immigration trends and regulatory developments. Additionally, she has been recognized on The Law Society’s Pro Bono Recognition List of England and Wales and was shortlisted for the Inspirational Leader of the Year 2024 award by Sheffield Chamber of Commerce.

Prior to joining Fragomen, Laxmi worked at a regional firm, where she headed an immigration office. There, she provided immigration and asylum advice, including pro bono work, and carried out extensive advocacy at the First and Upper Tier Tribunals, assisting clients with complex immigration matters.

Laxmi speaks English, Gujarati and Spanish.
