Magdalene is a Managing Director based in Fragomen's Hong Kong office.

She has in excess of 20 years experience in providing both in-bound and out-bound immigration services to individuals and multinational companies.

Prior to joining Fragomen, she worked in Big 4 CPA firms in Hong Kong for over 15 years heading their Visa & Migration Departments.

Magdalene’s career in immigration began with the Australian Government where she worked for the Australian High Commission in Hong Kong and initiated the Immigration Section of the Australian Embassy in Beijing.

Magdalene speaks English, Cantonese, Mandarin and Shanghainese.

Experience

Magdalene headed the Fragomen team who on behalf of an international theme park, processed and obtained for its cast members, employment visas for the park’s opening and on-going operations.

Magdalene personally handles a number of the firm’s more sensitive cases such as those involving common law and/or same sex relationships which are not recognized by some of the Authorities within the jurisdictions in which she operates.

Magdalene has handled a range of cases from CEO’s of multi-national corporations to start-ups, investors and individuals including applicants under various special immigration categories.

Magdalene has successfully handled appeals against decisions made by the Director of Immigration of the Government of the Hong Kong SAR.

Magdalene has worked with the Hong Kong Authorities in devising and implementing a new assessment procedure for obtaining work authorizations for certain employment categories in Hong Kong.

Magdalene is a popular speaker on Hong Kong immigration-related matters. Amongst others, she has appeared on television and been interviewed in the Hong Kong press.
