Mahrukh is the Director of Global Immigration and Visa Services and Practice Leader of the Fragomen New Zealand Practice, operating from Fragomen’s office in Sydney, Australia.

Mahrukh’s role is a strategic one within the firm and focuses on building worldwide opportunities for Fragomen in working with India-based clients across all industry sectors for their global immigration requirements. She is well known and respected by peers and clients alike in the Indian market. She also supports business development and client retention initiatives for the Australian practice. Since 2021, Mahrukh heads the Fragomen New Zealand team, responsible for the operations of the Auckland office, case delivery, staff development, client relationships and expansion of the Practice.

Mahrukh has worked with Fragomen for more than 20 years in a variety of positions. Prior to her current role, Mahrukh was the Practice Leader of the firm’s office in North Ryde, Sydney. She is an Australian Registered Migration Agent and a New Zealand Licensed Immigration Adviser, with extensive experience within the migration industry.

Mahrukh has particular experience in the management of large-scale immigration programs and in consulting and advising clients across a wide range of industry groups. In particular, she has worked with a strong client base of Indian-headed businesses in the ICT and other sectors. She also has experience in helping small or start-up companies in their movement of staff and in the establishment of a suitable immigration program for them.

Mahrukh has a real interest in people as individuals—and not just as customers—which helps in understanding and delivering outcomes clients seek for themselves or for their business. Mahrukh provides strategic, results-oriented advice and assistance to organizations with a friendly and empathetic approach and has built strong relationships over many years.  Clients would describe Mahrukh as being reliable, always accessible, positive and results driven.

Mahrukh speaks English, Gujrati and Hindi.

Held responsibility over a number of major client accounts in the financial, pharmaceutical, computing and business service industries.

Assisted several start-up/newly established businesses in Australia and New Zealand with visa and immigration requirements, including many with complex corporate structures.

Assisted several overseas businesses with Australian and New Zealand visa and immigration requirements for their assignees. Created different models of case processing to suit client requirements and levels of involvement, including streamlining processes for high volume clients to meet delivery expectations within very short time frames. Provided strategic advice and consultation to client businesses prior to change in legislation so as not to disadvantage the business or its visa holders.
