About Indonesia
Whether you’re looking to visit, live or work in Indonesia—we can support your immigration needs at every stage of your journey.
If you’re a foreign national looking to visit, live, and/or work in Indonesia, a few options are available.
- Business Visits: As a business visitor, you can use the Visa-on-Arrival (Visa Kunjungan Saat Kedatangan) or the Business Visit Visa (Visa Kunjungan) depending on your nationality, frequency of visits, and intended length of stay. Visas-on-Arrival are issued at an Indonesian port of entry, generally permit an initial stay of up to 30 days, and are valid for a single entry. If you are eligible for a Visa-on-Arrival but your intended stay exceeds 30 continuous days, you should secure a Business Visit Visa before you travel; this visa allows single or multiple entries and generally permits a stay of up to 60 days.
- Work Authorization: The standard work authorization in Indonesia is the Work Permit, collectively, the Foreign Manpower Utilization Plan (RPTKA) and the Notification (Notifikasi), which you typically hold along with the Limited Stay Permit (ITAS) or Permanent Stay Permit (ITAP). A Short-Term Work Permit is also available.
- Internships/Traineeships: There is no trainee-specific work authorization in Indonesia.
- Self-employment: There are no work authorization programs dedicated to potential investors or entrepreneurs in Indonesia.
- Digital Nomad Visa: Indonesia has a special program dedicated to digital nomads and remote workers called the "Remote Worker Visa (E33G)." This allows eligible foreign nationals to reside in Indonesia while working remotely for their home employer for a period of up to one year (subject to renewal for another year). Eligibility requirements include being employed by a foreign company outside of Indonesia, earning a minimum annual income of at least USD 60,000, and submitting proof of sufficient funds, among others.
