About Saudi Arabia
Whether you’re looking to visit, live or work in Saudi Arabia—we can support your immigration needs at every stage of your journey.
If you're a foreign national looking to visit, live, and/or work in Saudi Arabia, several options are available.
- Business Visits: To visit the country as a business visitor, you'll need to secure a government-approved letter of invitation from your sponsor in Saudi Arabia before you apply for a Business Visit Visa from a Saudi consular post. Business Visit Visas are usually valid for three months (single entry),12 months (multiple entries), or up to five or 10 years (multiple entries) for citizens of countries that signed bilateral visa agreements with Saudi Arabia. The single-entry visa for three months allows a maximum stay of under 30 days; for visas with other validities, the maximum allowable stay is 90 days. The Business Visit Visa does not allow hands-on work activities. Saudi Arabia also provides visa-on-arrival and eVisa options for eligible nationals, covering purposes such as tourism, cultural engagement, and religious travel.
- Work Authorization: The Temporary Work Visa is suitable for foreign nationals conducting work for a visa-sponsoring entity for up to 90 days per year. For long-term work, foreign nationals can apply for a Work Permit and Resident ID Card (Iqama), valid for up to one year, with the possibility of extensions.
- Internships/Traineeships: There is no trainee-specific work authorization category in Saudi Arabia. However, a 'Study in Saudi Arabia' program and self-sponsored short—and long-term educational visas for study, research, and training are available to nationals of over 160 countries (https://studyinsaudi.moe.gov.sa/). The short-term visa covers short-term language courses, training, study programs, and exchange programs. The long-term visa covers long-term academic courses and research visit programs.
- Self-employment: There are no work authorization programs dedicated to potential investors or entrepreneurs in Saudi Arabia. However, investors, entrepreneurs, and skilled professionals can apply for a Premium Residency Permit (PRP), granting long-term residency without requiring a local sponsor.
