Polish citizenship by descent may be available through a parent, grandparent or earlier ancestor, but having Polish ancestry does not automatically establish eligibility. Each case depends on a family’s individual history, whether citizenship was continuously passed from one generation to the next and how Polish citizenship laws applied at the relevant time.
