Angola: Stricter Enforcement of Rules Against Tourist Visa Use for Non-work Activities
May 4, 2026
Based on an internal government circular, the Angola Ministry of Interior has now confirmed that foreign nationals holding tourist visas, including those intending to work as technicians or professionals, are no longer permitted to embark or disembark from ports for the purpose of carrying out work or providing services in Angola. While this requirement already exists in law, it has not been strictly enforced in practice. Employers or individuals who work under a tourist visa may face sanctions under the current regulations.
