Join Fragomen’s Semiconductor Industry Group on December 10 for an interactive lunchtime roundtable exploring how employers can align recruitment, skills development and immigration strategies with global investment plans and operational needs.
The discussion will connect global talent supply and demand with the practical realities of immigration: where critical skills are available, how readily people can move between markets and what supports long-term workforce development and retention. We will explore three essential workforce groups: advanced researchers and engineers; technicians and skilled production workers; and the construction workforce needed to build and expand semiconductor facilities.
Through expert perspectives and facilitated peer discussions, participants will explore:
- Accessing critical skills: Where are relevant talent pools, and how do immigration requirements and government talent-attraction priorities across markets affect recruitment options and time to deployment?
- Developing sustainable pipelines: How can employers combine international recruitment, university and technical education programs, local skills development and global career pathways, including through government-supported training and industry partnerships?
- Aligning workforce and investment decisions: How should talent availability, immigration feasibility, industrial policy and investment incentives inform expansion plans and project timelines? Where can engagement with government help address workforce barriers?
Raj Mann Global Director of Fragomen’s Workforce Intelligence Group, will bring global workforce-planning and labor market insights, assessed through an immigration lens. Eddie Raleigh Partner with Fragomen Government Strategies, will share insights on U.S. immigration policy and government strategies and their implications for semiconductor workforce planning.
Building on themes raised during Fragomen’s October 7 webcast, including regulatory uncertainty and long-term sponsorship and retention strategies, the session will offer an opportunity to compare approaches, test assumptions and identify practical actions with industry peers.
Given the broader workforce-planning focus, we also encourage you to extend this invitation to a senior colleague involved in talent acquisition, workforce planning, HR leadership or talent management strategy who may benefit from participating in the discussion.
