Czech Consulate in New Delhi Suspends Residence Permit and Employee Card Appointments
March 12, 2018
The situation
The Czech Consulate in New Delhi, India has temporarily suspended appointments for residence permits and Employee Cards due to a lack of available appointments for several months.
Impact
As the New Delhi Consulate is the only consulate which processes Employee Cards and residence permits for the Czech Republic in India, foreign nationals in India and Indian nationals will not be able to obtain such documents at this consulate until this issue is resolved.
Alternatively, affected applicants who hold a residence permit in another country can submit their Employee Card or residence permit applications in the Czech Consulate in that country. Review of such applications will be at each consulate's discretion.
Background
Prior to the suspension, the New Delhi consulate was experiencing delays only for Employee Card appointments, but foreign nationals could still schedule appointments.
Looking ahead
There is not an expected date of resolution at this time. Fragomen will provide updates on the situation when they are available.
