Electronic Submission of Corporate Documents Required for All In-Country Applications
February 4, 2014
Employers must provide required corporate documents, such as support letters, for electronic upload with their foreign employees’ online applications for all in-country immigration processes at Foreigners Regional Registration Offices (FRROs) and Foreign Registration Offices (FROs) throughout India. A registration appointment cannot be made until supporting documents are uploaded.
India has been expanding electronic submission requirements for supporting documents over the past few months. In addition to having corporate documents uploaded, foreign nationals must upload a digital photograph, a copy of their passport, including the page bearing their Indian visa and an entry stamp, and proof of residence. Other than the photograph, documents must be in PDF format and under 200KB each. Photographs must be in JPEG format and under 50KB.
What This Means for Employers and Foreign Nationals
To ensure that timely appointments can be secured on their employees’ behalf, employers should ensure their immigration service providers are provided with all required supporting documents for upload.
