SYDNEY – 16 January 2024 – Fragomen, the world’s leading provider of immigration services, is pleased to announce the promotion of Charles Johanes to Partner.
Johanes serves as Practice Leader of Fragomen’s Asia Pacific Advisory and Compliance practice, providing specialist audit, advisory and compliance-related services to clients. He has been instrumental in developing these services in Australia over several years, and in developing and expanding this capability across the entire Asia Pacific region. He has also led various global client engagements for audit and compliance-related advisory work, in conjunction with the practices in each of the respective jurisdictions.
“As Fragomen continues to expand its service offerings across the Asia Pacific, I’m delighted to step into this new role and further the firm’s commitment to providing strategic immigration counsel and specialist advisory and compliance-related support to clients in this important market,” said Johanes.
Additionally, Johanes supports Fragomen’s Government Strategies group, contributing to the firm’s engagement with authorities on legislative and policy reform, and has appeared before Senate Committees to give evidence on behalf of the Australian practice.
“I’ve worked with Charles for many years and am thrilled for this well-deserved promotion. His extensive experience—and exceptional leadership of the firm’s Asia Pacific Advisory and Compliance practice, particularly—bolsters our commitment to clients in the region. They will continue to benefit from his breadth of regional knowledge in his new role,” said Teresa Liu, Managing Partner of Fragomen’s Australia and New Zealand practice and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee.
Johanes received his B.A., Bachelor of Law and Master of Law and Management from the University of New South Wales.
